What's new in the CAD application in the version 16 of Fikus Visualcam

Here is the list of the major developments in the CAD application in Fikus Visualcam 16.

Elements tangent to and from NURBS curves

The options for creating geometric elements (lines, circles, arcs, NURBS curves) tangent to or from NURBS curves have been completed. As always, to create, for example, a line from a point and tangent to a NURBS curve, select a point and then press the icon "Tangent" in the curve options and select a NURBS curve.

New function to create sync lines between two curves.

The new user function "Synchro CAD" allows the creation of synchronization lines between two contours. A common use is, for example, the synchronization of the XY and UV contours for the wire EDM technology.

New option "Offset N times "

In the "Offset" by distance, we can now define the offset performed a specified number of times.

Interactive path generator

This is a user function called "Int Path Generator" which generates a cutting path for several shapes in an interactive and semi-automatic way. It is useful for applications such as laser cutting or wire EDM where we want to fully control the order in which pieces are cut.
