What's new in Fikus Visualcam version 16
Metalcam S.L., the leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the workshop, announced the new Version 16 of its flagship product Fikus Visualcam. The new version provides a user-friendly and efficient CNC programming solution for WireEDM as well as for Milling, Lathe, Millturn and NC Cutting & Routing applications. To speed up the user productivity, Fikus Visualcam 16 incorporates more than 120 enhancements in all modules.
Work Environment
Developments in the Fikus environment have focused on the support of SpaceBall® devices for the control of dynamic movements on screen and in two new options for dynamic zoom, center the cursor or a fixed point, this latest option following the SolidWorks® style, for users familiar with this CAD system.

CAD
New features are added to the CAD application or supplement the functionality of existing functions:
-
The options to create elements tangent to or from NURBS curves have been completed.
-
New function to create sync lines between two curves.
-
New option "Offset N times ".
-
Interactive path generator.

CAM Application
The Tool Table for the for the Milling, Turning and Mill-turn technologies enables now the creation of tool data based on the machine and the stock material. When creating a new toolpath, we choose the machine and the material. The technological tool data applied when a tool is selected will correspond to the machine and the material.
Find more information on the tool data depending on the material and machine
The simulator can now show "T" and conical tools, showing the result that produces the material for such a tool. There are also added options to save the resulting material in STL format and for information on the volume of chip removed.
