The solution to programing lathe NC

Fikus Visualcam for lathe aplication offers a flexible and functional solution for today's toolmaker, and it not dependent on the age or type of the lathe in use. Fikus for lathe is specifically designed to be quick and easy to use, using a range of innovative tools. The product is a Microsoft native application, with dynamic OpenGL rendered graphics, and user interface with clear and concise icons and toolboxes, making the learning process easy. The major machine manufacturers are implemented with optimized technological tables.

 

Fikus Visualcam enables the creation and modification of required geometry, as well as importing geometry from other CAD systems via IGES, STEP, DWG, DXF or PLT. In addition, it provides an unlimited undo/redo, intelligent trimming, print with preview, as well as specific gear creation functions.

The Fikus Visualcam geometry module incorporates dimensioning, geometry measuring, verification and fixing functions, as well as Text creation.

Toolpath Manager

The Fikus Path Manager allows for easy creation of lathe procedures. This procedure is a combination of geometric and technological data presented in a logical tree, easy to create and edit at any stage in the process. The set of procedures may be saved as a template and applied to other geometries at a later stage. Using this feature, a machining process may be saved and reused. Manipulation of geometries and procedures in the Path Manager (i.e., create, edit, move, copy or delete) are possible using standard Windows features - copy, cut, paste, drag and drop.

 

Aided machining

Through the intelligent analysis of the part geometry, Fikus Visualcam optimizes the times both in the programming phase and during the execution of the CNC programs at the machine. Fikus Visualcam guides the user through the logical sequence of programming of the part succeeding in saving time and avoiding errors. The user interface, logical and intuitive, easy to learn and work, reduces drastically the programming time of the most complex jobs.

Automatic Machining based on knowledge ( “KBM”)

The machining assistant for lathe (“Wizard”) analyzes the part geometry (working both with 2D drawings or 3D surfaces) and automatically detects all its features. The machining strategy and all the machining procedures are defined, applied and calculated automatically as well. A new machining strategy can be defined by the user and saved for use with similar parts, teaching this way Fikus Visualcam how to machine new type of parts. Thus the machining can be fulfilled in a precise, error-free and automatic way.


Visual Machining

During the creation of the part, the user can can visualize it as a solid rendered object and dynamically pan, zoom or rotate it using the OpenGL standard graphics operations. Changes made (height, draft angle, or sinchronizing the contours), are automatically shown on the screen. View manipulation can be performed during toolpath simulation.

The machining can be simulated using the realistic stock simulator integrated with Fikus Visualcam for lathe.
