Fikus at the IMTS show in Chicago

Metalcam presented the novelties of FikusPlus and FikusSt to the American industry

Metalcam has been present, for the first time, at the IMTS 2022 fair held biannually in Chicago. This is the main manufacturing technology trade show in North America, where Fikus Visualcam attended to meet with the American manufacturing industry and present the latest developments in its range of CAD/CAM solutions.

In this post-pandemic edition, IMTS had more than 1,800 exhibiting companies, nearly 90,000 registered visitors and almost 8,000 attendees at the multiple conferences organized to discover the latest innovations in digital and traditional manufacturing and experience more than 15,000 new machining technologies. “Most gratifying for the industry and the country was the scope of the trade that took place as visitors sought, and found, key technologies and productivity solutions to advance their businesses", expressed Douglas K. Woods, president of The Association For Manufacturing Technology.

Extended presence in the United States

Metalcam has been present in the American market for many years with a constant expansion in this competitive market, to the point of opening its own branch office several years ago to provide its customers with the proximity service that characterizes it.

At this IMTS 22 Metalcam presented its range of CAD/CAM software for the workshop, with special attention to the recently launched version 22 of FikusPlus and its new milling capabilities, including 5 positioned axes. In wire EDM machining, FikusPlus 22 offers a new and efficient Nesting or rotary axis functions such as Spin & Burn.

Also presented was a preview of the new version of FikusSt, which will soon be released and incorporates multiple new features aimed at increasing the versatility and automation of EDM processes, such as the improved Automatic Feature Recognition, which allows the definition of destructive features based on the size of the geometry, with new options that allow combining destructive features and cavity cuts in a very agile way. Productivity can also be increased by grouping the tasks to be performed without operator control with the optimized Phases to Geo & Geo to Phases function.
